Blogging Saves the Saint Paul Classic Cookie Company
(
PRLEAP.COM) Saint Paul, Minn. August 9, 2008 – For Katie Novotny, the owner of the Saint Paul Classic Cookie Company, blogging about her small business’ financial struggles paid off.
According to a feature in the Star Tribune, soaring commodity prices and mounting bills had Novotny stressing about how she was going to keep the Saint Paul Classic Cookie Company going, so she blogged about her financial woes, then forwarded the link to a few friends.
Novotny’s friends, however, took this opportunity to help their friend out by forwarding the link to as many people as possible, and according to the feature, "more than 3,400 subscribers to a weekly downtown electronic newsletter had the news of her plight in their in-boxes."
Since then, Novotny and her family, who help run the Saint Paul Classic Cookie Company, have been scrambling to keep up with the cookie orders that have been coming in.
"We love what we do and we love our customers," said Novotny in the feature. "It was this really scary situation where we might not be doing this anymore. To have that kind of support come out when we just needed it the most, it was phenomenal."
