The Sports Car Club Gives Members Stress Free Driving

(PRLEAP.COM) Reynoldsburg, Ohio August 10, 2008 – When John McGinley came up the idea of forming a country club that is based about nice cars instead of golf, he had no idea that he would be featured in the Columbus Dispatch for allowing his members to drive one of his high end sports cars for up to a week without having to purchase the vehicles.

McGinley’s Sports Car Club has a 1990 Ferrari 348, a 2005 Lotus Elise and 1965 and 1997 Chevrolet Corvettes available for cruising for an annual fee of 250 dollars plus a usage charges.

McGinley said his members are actually saving money when they join compared with how high costs could be, as the cost of maintaining one of the cars he rents would run $16,400 annually, not including the car’s purchase price. The Sports Car Club estimates an owner who would drive an exotic car uses it about 30 days out of the year, and the cost of driving one of the Sports Car Club’s cars for 30 days is $5,350.

In the feature, McGinley said that some of his members already own a "fun car," but they join for the access to other vehicles.

"It’s a way to add to your collection without having to buy a car," he said.

About the Sports Car Club:

The purpose of The Sports Car Club is to provide a cost effective way for members to enjoy driving these awesome vehicles. What many car lovers do not realize is that in order to own an exotic and classic vehicle, they have to be willing to put up with the extra costs besides that of the initial cost of the vehicle. When the maintenance, insurance, licensing, storage and depreciation are considered, the costs quickly add up. Members of The Sports Car Club don’t have to worry about all these expenses; all they need to do is drive.
