The article titled "Bullock County Guide" provided an in-depth report on Georgia Southern University and the degrees and programs it offers. The University has been one of the most predominant educational institutions for almost 100 years. "With an enrollment of more than 16,500 students, Georgia Southern University is the most comprehensive university in southeast Georgia offering 130 undergraduate and graduate degree programs," wrote Statesboro Herald staff writers.
The University resides on 634 acres on the south side of Statesboro. Over the past decade, the University has invested millions of dollars in renovations and beautification projects. "Currently underway are renovations to the Henderson Library, which will add 103,000 square feet to the facility, an expansion of the art building, and the addition of 120,000 square feet to the student Recreation Activity Center was completed last year."
The University also offers studying abroad programs, collegiate sports teams and community involvement. ‘"We feel an obligation to contribute to the vibrancy and well-being of the community, which we do by offering numerous events and programs which are open to the public,’" President Dr. Bruce Grube said in the article.
