Voice Productions International Featured in Denver Business Journal
(
PRLEAP.COM) Arvada, CO - August 20, 2008 – Maya León Meis, President and CEO of Voice Productions International, was recently featured in the Denver Business Journal for her experience in the foreign language and translation industry. The weekly journal provides the latest breaking business news, events, resources, careers and marketplace.
The article titled "Surviving cancer-twice-inspired León-Meis’ expanded career" explains how she became involved in the industry while surviving breast cancer. A native of Peru, she came to the U.S. as an exchange student at the age of 16. "She earned a degree in Peru to teach English as a second language and then a master’s degree as a Fullbright Scholar in Applied Linguistics from the University of Colorado Boulder," wrote staff writer Amy Bryer.
León-Meis began her career with script translations, on-camera and voice-over bilingual talent and becoming an anchorwoman on television. She was also diagnosed with breast cancer and continued her career. She also believes that her personal experience with health issues help the show’s topics that she currently produces.
‘"I’m talking with my heart. I’m not some model reading a script, I’m a person telling you my story, which makes it more credible,’" she said in the article.
