TicketstotheCity, a Free, Online Ticketing Service, Sells over $100,000 in First Six Months
(
PRLEAP.COM) Cheshire, CT - August 28, 2008 – Fort Worth based Combined Arts Media, the parent company of TicketsotheCity, announced today that the innovative new online ticketing service exceeded all sales forecasts by selling over $104,000 worth of arts and theatre tickets during its first six months of operation.
Launched in February 2008, TicketstotheCity occupies a unique niche among online ticketing choices by offering its state-of-the-art service free of charge to the organizations who utilize it. This "free to use" philosophy makes it an ideal solution for smaller and medium-sized arts groups that wish to compete in today’s marketplace by offering tickets to patrons online, but can’t afford set-up fees, credit card processing fees and transaction fees associated with many of the other ticketing services available. TicketstotheCity has proven popular with audiences, who are charged only a small service fee when they buy their tickets online-making the service an excellent consumer value.
TicketstotheCity is the brainchild of programmer Sean Foushee who previously developed the popular website GuidetotheCity as an umbrella resource for promoting performing and cultural arts organizations located throughout North Texas.
While working with various theatrical groups, Foushee realized that there was a need for a service that would enable smaller organizations to conduct business online. Foushee joined forces with several theatre companies in the Fort Worth area to make TicketstotheCity a flexible tool that could easily meet the various individual criteria established by a widely divergent set of arts groups.
Starting off with just a handful of organizations utilizing the service when it launched in February, TicketstotheCity is now the online ticketing service of choice for a number of prominent arts groups throughout Texas, including Jubilee Theatre, Stage West, Hip Pocket Theatre, and Q Cinema in Fort Worth; Theatre Arlington and CATS in Arlington; Baytown’s Little Theatre; Azle’s Popcorn Players; Houston’s Classical Theatre Company; Rockwall Community Playhouse; and many more.
