Burlington, Wis. – Runzheimer International will be awarded Wisconsin Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s highest award, the State Chair’s Above and Beyond Award, at noon on Monday, Aug. 15, at the Burlington Rotary meeting held at the Waterfront Restaurant, 31100 Weiler Road. Two Patriot Awards will also be given out to Runzheimer leadership.
Runzheimer International has been recognized nationally for the company’s proactive policies affecting its military employees, including “differential pay” after a Guard or Reserve employee has been activated. Following the awards ceremony, Rex Runzheimer, Chairman and CEO of Runzheimer International, will sign a “Five-Star Level Statement of Support.”
The signing ceremony symbolizes Runzheimer’s continued commitment to its employees that serve in the Guard and Reserve. Runzheimer will invite Rotary Club members to sign Statements of Supports with him.
The Statement of Support signing is part of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) initiatives that encourage positive relationships between employers and their Guard and Reserve employees.
When a company signs a Statement of Support, it recognizes the National Guard and Reserve as essential to the strength of our nation and the well-being of our communities.
According to Runzheimer, “Wisconsin’s Reserve and Guard members deserve the support of every segment of our society. In the highest American tradition, the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve serve voluntarily in an honorable and vital profession. They train to respond to their community and their country in time of need.”
By signing a Statement of Support, Runzheimer joins other employers in pledging that:
• Employment will not be denied because of service in the National Guard and Reserve.
• Employee job and career opportunities will not be limited or reduced because of service in the National Guard and Reserve.
• Employees will be granted leaves of absence for military training and/or service in the National Guard or Reserve, consistent with existing laws, without sacrifice of vacation.
• This pledge of support and its resultant policies will be made known throughout its organization.
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense volunteer organization. ESGR provides free education, consultation, and, if necessary, mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. ESGR's goal is to support America's employers who share their employees with the military to ensure our national security.
