Arco Nut & Candy Celebrates its 75th Anniversary

(PRLEAP.COM) September 12, 2008 – Riverside, CA – Arco Nut & Candy first opened their doors seventy-five years ago with the first nut and candy store that did their own shelling. Since then, their customers have remained loyal and business is still successful.

The shop specializes in corporate and custom gift packing, in addition to its store where customers can do their shopping. They offer gift baskets, boxes, and trays, and deliver a service that keeps their customers coming back, many on a first name basis with the owners.

"We buy the best quality and sell it for the best price," stated Desirey Williamson, the new manager of Arco Nut & Candy.

Desirey is no stranger to the nut and candy store. Her grandfather was one of the shop’s early customers and continues to be one, only now, he owns the shop.

Williamson’s grandfather purchased the business in April of this year and gave it to Desirey to manage. Desirey’s mother is a partner in the business. Arco Nut & Candy has a unique atmosphere that is hard for any other candy and nut shop to compete with. Even more unique is that Arco Nut & Candy has always been managed by women.

"It’s always been a woman-owned business," stated Williamson.

The Williamson family cherishes their customers and hopes to extend their service to schools for fundraising projects. With a company that has been around as long as Arco Nut & Candy, and traditions that have been preserved since the beginning of the shop, the Williamson family is proud to be part of a business that provides people with something more than just a product.

"All of our customers are like family. They have been coming here for years and years," Williamson said humbly. "Our name is a name that everybody knows." Fortunately, the name of Arco Nut & Candy will be one remembered for years to come.
