ACOM Healthcare Business Division Inks Reseller Agreement with SunRise Systems and Solutions

(PRLEAP.COM) EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio, October 7, 2008 – SunRise Systems and Solutions, a medical billing service and practice management software provider headquartered in East Liverpool, will sell ACOM’s RAPID EMR chiropractic notes and reporting software system into its national client base under a reseller agreement reached by the companies in August, it was announced today by SunRise Founder-President Dawn Krough and Gregory T. Church, vice president of the ACOM Healthcare Business Division.

SunRise launched in 1998 as a medical billing company, employing its SunRise EZFile software, and five years later released the fully featured SunRise Practice Management Software suite, which includes what Krough describes as a "mini-electronic medical records" feature.

"We’ve long known that we needed a more dynamic EMR component," she said. "When RAPID EMR was brought to our attention, we requested a demonstration and immediately said ‘this is it.’ We are now finishing the process of tightly integrating RAPID EMR with our practice management suite and just through our routine customer contact, we already have more than a dozen orders, with more coming in."

RAPID EMR, the clinical component of ACOM’s RAPID Complete, tablet computer-oriented chiropractic software suite, enables doctors to automate their clinical notes and documentation functions, beginning with automated patient self check-in. Automated note-taking is driven by an extensive set of graphical helpers and checklists, each with associated customizable narrative text.

The automated notes, supplemented and expanded with on-screen scribing, are stored with allied documentation in a powerful context-oriented database. When final reports or interim outcomes assessment reports are required, they are assembled automatically with just a few instructional keystrokes and generated by laser printer. The process is completed in minutes and if desired, the reports can also be distributed electronically.

"Two things that struck us immediately were the software’s amazing ease of use and its comprehensiveness," Krough said. "It is virtually intuitive, with all features accessed through the RAPID application program interface (API). Everything the doctor needs is included. Before we encountered ACOM EMR we considered developing our own electronic medical records package, but concluded that with our expertise in billing we were best advised to stick with that."

According to Church, ACOM will furnish the implementation, support and training services for SunRise customers purchasing the RAPID EMR system.
