Donald Watson is the man that created the word vegan from the begining and end of the word "vegetarian"
A member of The UK Vegetarian Society (who refused permission for them to set up a sub group) Donald Watson and his frustrated friends broke away and formed The Vegan Society in London in November 1944.
World Vegan Day is celebrated internationally on 1st November every year.
