Boyden Global Executive Search Principal Marie McNeice Interviewed by NJ Biz

November 16, 2008 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
November 16, 2008 (PRLEAP) – Summit, NJ – Marie McNeice, Principal for Boyden Global Executive Search firm, was recently featured in an article on NJBiz.com about small businesses concentrating their work during hard economic times. The title of the article was "In Crunch, Small Businesses Focus on Their Work Force."

McNeice spoke about the fact that small businesses were focusing on rewarding productivity as an incentive rather than just a flat salary. This, she believes, helps small businesses maximize productivity. McNeice is seeing these trends in her clients, one third of which are small businesses.
Many businesses, said McNeice, are adding multiple functions to their executive roles. This helps small businesses maximize their resources with the staff they already have, versus hiring new (and costly) additional staff.

"Small businesses are shifting their focus from product to market and from commodity to value-added solutions," McNeice was quoted in the article.
And staying with a firm for 15 years? Not necessary, said McNeice. Many firms owned by private equity are more likely to employ professionals with the experience they need for just a few years, possibly on contract or with an exit strategy.
