Betty's Originals: Homemade Baskets That Taste As Good As They Look
(PRLEAP.COM) November 16, 2008-Schwenksville, Pennsylvania- While many will be out shopping for the perfect gift this holiday season, Irma Burns, owner of Betty’s Originals, will be at home creating tasty gift baskets for others to give away as presents or even take home for self enjoyment.
Having been in business for 25 years, Burns bought out the Betty’s Originals franchise and was later sold the business.
Currently working out of her home in Schwenksville, PA, Burns sells the hand-made baskets, which are put together by stacking 10 packs of chips, 4 packs of crackers, and 12 packs of cookies and nuts.
"It looks like a wedding cake. It’s a total of 3 tiers. The bottom row is chips and the second row is made from crackers. That is what makes them so unique. It’s all made from chips and crackers, cookies and nuts."
The baskets are not only edible, but customized to make them great gifts for any occasion. "I make the Lance cracker basket, baby baskets, fruit baskets and any kind of special basket you want," said Burns.
Using Lance snack food products to build the unique gifts, Burns confirmed, "They are good for all ages, because everybody likes to eat," she said.
The standard sized baskets range anywhere from $25 to $30 and take approximately 24 hours to complete, however, the original Lance cracker baskets are already prepared. Prices vary for customers requesting larger fruit baskets, and will depend upon size and the current pricing of fresh fruit. Burns can adhere to special requests. "I really enjoy the customers I get," she said, "I’m able to deliver UPS or ship anywhere."
Upon request, Burns can send brochures so customers can get a chance to see what the finished baskets looks like.
