(PRLEAP.COM) SAN FRANCISCO, CA - December 11, 2008 - First on Mars announced today the launch of its personalized guide to network TV on the web. Through First on Mars, Internet surfers can easily find, organize and watch more than 12,500 online episodes of free, legal and on-demand network TV shows from across the web.

Similar to successful personalized Internet radio services such as Pandora and Last.fm, First on Mars is a web 2.0 application that lets users:

discover new TV shows with a personalized guide that adapts to their viewing habits and preferences regarding shows, networks and TV moods;
navigate to network TV shows by selecting from forty-five "TV Moods" such as dark, dramatic, exciting, futuristic, gritty, sexy, hilarious and street;
graphically navigate to content by clicking on show and network logos;
share links to network TV shows with friends using social web applications such as Facebook, Twitter and StumbleUpon;
change the look of their personal guide with six unique skins; and
opt-in to receive emails when new episodes of their favorite shows become available on-line.

First on Mars links to over 12,500 episodes from 600 popular shows on 63 major network sites.

"With the explosion of network TV episodes available for free streaming on the web, Internet surfers deeply need a way to find and organize links to all of their favorite shows through a single website," said First on Mars founder and CEO Tuhin Roy. "Our mission is to combine the best in web personalization and cutting-edge user interface design to create a fun and easy way for mainstream consumers to engage with network TV on the web."

First on Mars is free to consumers. The company plans to generate revenue by displaying advertising on its web pages. The company filed a patent application covering its proprietary guide technology in September 2008. The First on Mars guide is built in cutting-edge programming languages Adobe Flex and Ruby on Rails.
