Baby swimming lessons add to holiday fun with Keycamp

Encouraging confidence in water from the earliest possible age, leading self-catering holiday provider Keycamp has teamed up with the Swimming Teachers' Association (STA) to offer free swimming lessons on holiday for their tiny travellers.

Brand new for 2009, their introduction reflects the 85% increase in the number of babies taking part in swimming lessons in just the last two years in the UK.

The lessons - which follow the STA's six-step programme - are available to children between three months and five years old. The programme offers a structured and supportive environment and creates a fun and positive experience for babies enjoying the pool for the first time.

Lessons will be available at five French holiday parks:
Brittany holiday parks - Chateau des Ormes in Dol, La Pointe St Gilles in Bénodet and L'Atlantique in Beg Meil
Dordogne holiday parks - Saint Avit Loisirs at Le Bugue
Languedoc holiday parks - Les Sablons at Portiragnes Plage

Keycamp's Dave McKenna comments: "Getting children to learn to swim at such a young age is always a great idea because they come to associate activities with fun. And it will provide a great family holiday with exercise for parents too, as splashing around in the pool for half hour with your child can be quite a work out.

"As well as the health benefits and meeting other children, the lessons also promote the importance of water safety, whilst generally having lots of fun."

To give the perfect toddler friendly holiday, Keycamp provides travel cots, highchairs, baby baths and potties free of charge, while buggies are available for hire on selected parcs. Also designed to keep the youngsters occupied is the Mini Fun Station club, which offer hours of free fun for children aged one to four.
