Business Brains: 47% of Brits shun salary, job title and status as indicators of success in a recent survey conducted by Sage

(PRLEAP.COM) In a challenging time for UK business, Sage and YouGov have partnered for State of the Nation research raising the question of just how Brits will judge their success in business in 2009.

The survey demonstrates that 47% of respondents do not necessarily consider salary, job title or status as indicators of their success in the workplace. Most respondents thought their chances of business success would be enhanced by improving their mental agility, with 18% of respondents saying this was an area of focus for them. 27% of men and 29% of women said intelligence was the strongest characteristic required in their job.

Respondents of the survey saw Sir Richard Branson as the most successful business brain with 57% of the votes, whist Sir Alan Sugar came in second with 10% of the votes.

The survey was commissioned as part of the Sage Business Brains campaign, which launched in January with the trainyourbusinessbrain.com website and a partnership with ITV1 for the Krypton Factor. The website allows users to test their business IQ against the nation through Brain Training
games and features a video blog by Simon Woodruff and tips on how to become successful in business.
