ATFT Foundation Gives Free Trauma Relief Retreats and PTSD Help for Returning Veterans

(PRLEAP.COM) La Quinta – Callahan Techniques, Ltd. and The Association for Thought Field Therapy (ATFT) Foundation is pleased to announce free, much-needed trauma and stress relief, in a retreat package, for those soldiers returning from war. These easily learned, self-applied techniques, Thought Field Therapy® (TFT) are based on proven and time-honored principles of both contemporary clinical psychology and Chinese medicine to conquer trauma, anxiety, stress, fears and addictions. The procedures have been successfully used in disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, war torn countries such as Kosovo and genocide countries like Rwanda.

The ATFT Foundation is highly successful in eliminating trauma by helping people use techniques that do not require long-term talk therapy. We teach individuals how to help themselves, their buddies and their family members. We don’t claim a person would be totally "cured" or totally "adjusted" just by using the self-help techniques, however, TFT can provide a much needed stop gap, while awaiting VA support. TFT can assist an upset individual or family to achieve a more calm and well functioning cognitive state very quickly, long enough to avoid suicide and/or homicide.

The foundation is packaging these powerful self-help tools with a donated timeshare week and a volunteer mentor for the selected veterans and their families.

The ATFT Foundation will be teaming up with other organizations such as the National Veterans Foundation, to reach veterans desiring help, business groups to attract timeshare donors and professional organizations to provide volunteer mentors and coaches. The ATFT Foundation’s Trauma Retreat for Vets committee will be run by TFT trained veterans and trauma specialists, who clearly understand the unique needs of this population.

The use of TFT to address the world wide problems of trauma is a low cost, effective way to reduce suffering and improve the quality of life for the people afflicted and their families. TFT also provides the possibility of saving lives by offering self-help procedures to those awaiting help from the overburdened VA system.

TFT is unique in that it can be quickly and easily applied by trained helpers in the community without harm. The technique provides immediate and profound relief at the mental, physical and spiritual levels. It can end nightmares, and eliminate pain, anxiety and anger. These outcomes are usually enduring and do not require reliving the past traumatic event as compared to many other modalities currently being offered. Two recent PTSD studies in Rwanda have proven this to be a highly effective intervention for the very worst of traumas.

Recent studies show there is mounting concern for the families of vets as well as the increasing number of returning vets. The families can also use the potentially life-saving properties that TFT’s self-help procedures offer. TFT Trauma relief procedures are simple and easy to use. In addition to the above mentioned program, they are available in English or Spanish at http://www.atftfoundation.org/traumahelp.html or from Dr. Callahan, TFT’s founder and developer, at http://www.tftrx.com/traumahelp.php .
