Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board will kick start the week with the official launch of the all new consumer website visitLancashire.com an enticing and informative portal to Lancashire, for visitors and admirers across the globe. Follow visitLancashire on Twitter and Facebook for 'tweets' and news about what's happening in the region; not just from LBTB but from a growing band of followers who want to share their views, opinions and love of Lancashire.

Look out on Monday 23 for our trigger 'launch tweet' (which will also appear on Facebook) offering the chance to win a number of prizes including a pocket digi-cam to keep YouTube up to date with your own great views of Lancashire (whether you're a lucky resident or welcome visitor). visitLancashire.com has been nine months in development and reflects a huge investment by LBTB in on-line communications, using the latest devices to engage with and to share information with visitors and fans of the region. With a much fresher look, engaging content and easy to use navigation it celebrates Lancashire at its best and opens some of the county's hidden gems to a world of online opportunity.

Browse through news, video, editor's picks, event highlights, comment on our blog or simply click on 'Inspire Me' for ideas and tempting offers. The improved facilities enable specific searches on things to do, events, food and drink and for accommodation via grading, accessibility, green accreditation and availability.

The site is constantly evolving and up-coming developments including consumer reviews, improved on-line booking and a mobile friendly version, will give even greater choice and interactivity to the user – wherever they may be.

Chief Executive of Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board Mike Wilkinson commenting on the impending launch said;

"With the attractive new look, improved navigation and interactivity we hope to see visitors to the site increase by at least 20% over the next year . It opens a portal to Lancashire that offers the visitor a rich and rewarding experience that is second only to being here."

VisitLancashire.com is supported by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA).
