March 27, 2009 – The UK's leading car hire comparison site, Carrentals.co.uk, is remaining positive about the rental market despite news of 1Car1 going into administration.

Managing director of Carrentals.co.uk, Gareth Robinson, says: "The news that 1Car1 has been placed in the hands of administrators is bad news for its employees, however it proves just how tough the rental market is. The truth is that in the current climate the vehicle hire industry is facing challenges with fleets, costs and budget-conscious customers, and only the best companies will survive.

"Both business travellers and holidaymakers are being forced to cut back on their spending, and get savvier about what they book.
