Retractableawnings.com Announces Two-Phase Website Roll-Out In Spring 2009

RetractableAwnings.com, an online awning retailer for almost 15 years, is announcing widespread updates to the design, content, usability, and even service for their preeminent, high ranking website. The updates will be rolled-out in two phases, beginning with a new hosting provider, enhanced design, and expanded product lines in late spring 2009. The next phase, slated for early summer 2009, will entirely update the content and introduce new Web 2.0 features.

"Our website is designed to provide the best information to our customers and to make the shopping experience as pleasant and easy as possible," said Eric Scop, RetractableAwning.com's vice president of Sales and Internet Marketing. "This new site is really going to enhance the user's experience. The new design and high resolution images are going to make the visual experience more dynamic, and the content we are going to add will provide a wealth of information that's not available anywhere else."

The first stage will see a new site design and enhancements to the existing site content. Current features like RetractableAwning.com's exclusive 3D Rendering Tool (which uses customer-submitted photos and interactive awning selections to create 3D renderings) will be carried over to the new site. The gallery of photographs will be updated with high resolution images.

RetractableAwnings.com will also add two new quality retractable awnings styles to their product line and expand their fabric selection to over 450 fabric options with new styles from Para, Sattler, and Sunbrella.

During this stage, RetractableAwnings.com will also switch over from their current hosting service to a new service on virtual servers. This transition will cut their hosting costs by nearly 60% while saving over 25% in electricity consumption over their previous dedicated servers.

"Green technologies save us money, as a company, and they save the environment," Scop said. "Moving to virtual servers is a socially responsible move."

The next phase is slated to be unveiled early summer 2009. This stage will introduce new interactive features, including RSS feeds, blogs, and forums; expanded industry research and studies; and a new range of specials.
