8 Year Old Catches 140 Pound Tarpon in The Everglades
(
PRLEAP.COM) 8 Year Old "JJ" went fishing with his father aboard Captain Rich Smith’s of
www.captainrichsmith.com flats skiff and had no idea what he was in store for.
His Angling Adventure took place in South Florida inside Everglades National Park. They boarded the boat in the early morning hours and traveled across numerous ponds and creeks passing birds, alligators, and other wildlife along the way. When they arrived at the fishing hole there were prehistoric looking Tarpon rolling and jumping everywhere. On the second cast the Rapala lure was inhaled by a massive 140 pound Tarpon. The fish exploded out of the water and screamed out over 200 yards of line.
"JJ" kept his composure the entire time and never let up an inch. When the Silver King jumped "JJ" reacted by bowing gracefully to the fish. He fought this fish for nearly two hours before Captain Rich Smith was able to successfully release the fish unharmed for someone else to fight another day. If you would like to learn more about
