SCOTTSDALE, AZ, April 29, 2009 – Sunridge Canyon Golf Club, a Golf Week top 26 in the US, has announced a program that aims to "spread the love" to local golfers. A 6,823-yard, par-71 desert golf masterpiece designed by Keith Foster, Sunridge Canyon has a wide of array of accolades and plenty of far-flung fans. Now, new efforts by the friendly neighborhood public facility have been created with the local golfer in mind.

"We want to make it a little easier for the local golfer to get his or her golf fix at our club," says Joel Schafer, director of golf at SunRidge. "Sunridge is too good of a course to share only with visiting golfers. Joel and the Sunridge staff have reached-out to the locals with a year-long series of special offers, aimed squarely at local golf enthusiasts.

The loyalty program includes April's 'Masterful Month', where local golfers are challenged to pay a green fee that matches their 18 hole score. "Sure we may lose a few dollars to gimmees and mulligan's, but this whole thing is meant generate a little fun, a little excitement," adds Shafer. "Even if you are putting for a double bogey, having it mean something makes all the difference."

"Basically, we'd like to invite that golfer who always wanted to play here, but was unwilling to shell-out peak price green fees," says Greg Wilson, Sales and Marketing Manager at SunRidge. "Especially these days when greenbacks are as well-guarded as our greens. If we can help a little in the wallet department, and just get folks to experience the Ridge once, we're confident we'll have another fan."

Next on the 'Love Your Locals' docket is the 'May All-Day,' where locals can play unlimited golf for $69 a day (which is a nice reprieve from a rack rate of $110). Summer specials will be revealed at the end of May, and fall specials will follow soon after.

The friendly folks at Sunridge encourage you to visit the website often, where highlights of the monthly offerings, will be showcased: www.sunridgegolf.com or welovelocals.com
