Tacoma, WA, August, 2005 – Abolins, one of the largest and most established audio visual dealers in America, has announced the recent hiring of premier photographer Ray Jeanotte. He will be heading up Abolins’ Photographic Sales Service to continue providing customers with the same superior support which has existed for the past 40 years. Abolins is dedicated to providing the largest selection of high quality goods - at the lowest possible prices.

Jeanotte is a world renowned photographer who has had his work published all over the world - including England, France, Holland, Germany and the United States. Best known for his work covering international motor sports, Ray’s work has appeared in a variety of publications including “Can-Am: Photo History” by Pete Lyons, “Time and Two Seats” by Jonos Wimpffin of Motorsport Research Group and Mark Donahue’s book “The Unfair Advantage”.

Ray dove in to the professional photography industry at an early age, assisting many famous photographers on the New York scene in the late 1960s. Throughout his time as an assistant, Ray was attending classes and earning his degree at the city’s prestigious School of Visual Arts. After graduation in 1970, he left for Europe to both travel and photograph the world. Ray met, fell in love with and married a Dutch woman with whom he later had two children and their partnership continues to this day after over 30 loving years.

After over 35 years of photography experience, when recently asked to name the most memorable moment of his career, Ray responded without hesitation: “Doing a book cover for Ray Bradbury’s book of poetry ‘I Live By the Invisible’. Ray Bradbury is my favorite writer.”

Ray brings to the team an expert-level knowledge of photography, with an emphasis on sports. As a result, Abolins’ customers will get quality answers to all of their toughest questions. For instance, Ray recommends shooting at shutter speeds greater than 1/250 of a second when photographing moving vehicles. At the 1/250 speed, it will provide a much higher level of subject detail – even appearing as though the cars are parked. Ray also suggests using anywhere from 1/60 to 1/125 on all your panned shots will to bring out a greater sense of realism.

Abolins carries the latest models of Nikon, Canon, Fuji, Pentax, Olympus and Minolta cameras and accessories as well as providing advice from experts like Ray Jeanotte. The entire Abolins team are always available to show you around the store and explore all the different camera options available.
