Richard Harrington's and John Treichler's exhibit Dusty, Dirty, and Delayed opens Friday, July 10th at the Artists' Gallery in Lambertville, NJ. A reception with the artists will be held on Saturday, July 18th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The exhibit runs through August 2nd.

The exhibition explores the impact of trains and rail service throughout the northeast, especially the corridor between Philadelphia and New York. The artists are examining the public's fascination with trains, and the feelings they inspire, ranging from awe to frustration. The artists are also looking at what trains mean to the communities they pass through, whether they are passenger, commuter, or freight trains.

Richard Harrington has been painting trains, cars, and other large mechanical vehicles for over 25 years. He is comfortable working in both watercolors and acrylics. He was elected to The Society of Illustrators in 1996, and to the Philadelphia Sketch Club in 2004.

His work has been exhibited at several different locales, including The Norman Rockwell Museum, the Newman Galleries in Philadelphia, and the Society of Illustrators in NYC, to name a few. He also teaches illustration at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA. More information about Harrington and his work can be found at www.barking-beaglestudio.com.

John Treichler finds the dramatic in the ordinary by paying particular attention to composition and line. His photographs are very carefully constructed, giving the image a feeling of energy and serenity at the same time. Working in both color and black & white, the subjects of his photographs range from urban landscapes to abstract organic forms.

Largely a self-taught artist, he is a graduate of the Art and Aesthetics program at the Barnes Foundation in Merion, PA. His photographs have been selected for exhibition at the Philadelphia Sketch Club and New Hope Phillips' Mill Photography Exhibitions multiple years. His work can be seen on the website www.jtreichler-image.com.
