An eclectic celebration of all things celluloid, Paris Cinema Festival takes place in the French capital next month, with screenings taking place at a range of different cinemas across the city.

Having developed a strong international reputation, the event, which is now in its seventh year, charges just €5 (£4.25) per screening. As such, everyone looking for hotels in Paris for the festival should be able to get involved in the action.

A huge array of different movies is due to go on show at the celebration, from Japanese filmmaker Kenji Mizoguchi's silent classic Oyuki the Virgin, which will be accompanied by six musicians, to the premiere of Lisandro Alonso's Liverpool and Eccentricities of a Blonde-haired Girl by Manoel de Oliviera.

Each year, the event plays host to a number of prestigious personalities from the realm of world cinema and the 2009 edition of the festival will see Italian actress Claudia Cardinale honoured, while the complete work of Tsai Ming-liang will also be celebrated.

The organisers assert: "Keeping with its tradition, the festival will take audiences on a 12-day trip around the world with, this summer, a stopover in Turkey - all this without leaving Paris!"

Paris Cinema International Film Festival runs between July 2nd and July 14th.
