Word Travels Fast for new travel web site!

London - A new travel web resource was launched earlier this month, which lets you create your own online travel diary, enabling friends and family to keep up to date with all your adventures.

The site is based around a tight knit community of travellers from all around the world, who share the knowledge and experiences from their travels and in doing so help other members plan future holidays.

'I first came up with the idea for Word Travels Fast,' explains Verity Graham, co-founder of the web site, 'In a Peruvian Internet Cafe, having just completed the Inca Trail. There I was, travelling around the world, and I suddenly thought that it would be great
not only to be able to share my experiences with my friends, but perhaps to pass on some of the things I had learnt on the way to a wider community!"

On her return, Verity set down with fellow co-founder, David Ault, and between them they began to build on this basic premise. "It‘s all about word of mouth," continues David. "Listening to real people’s recommendations about a particular destination, instead of just reading what a travel book has to say. We strongly believe that by sharing their views online, our members can create a useful resource of quality information for travellers everywhere.”

Quality contributions from members are encouraged through a number of competitions running through the site. Current prizes include a holiday for eight in Slovakia for the best travelogue, and a holiday for six in Croatia for the best Travel Photo submitted.

Word Travels Fast also includes many other sections to help members plan their next trip, including Travel Tips, Travel Ideas, Travel Links, Useful Advice and Language Resources. Perhaps, one of the highlights of the site is the informative Travel Forum; a place where it certainly is the case that word travels fast…
