Dog Ear Publishing, a leader in self publishing, plants 10,000 trees in 2009 and continues its environmentally responsible approach to business.

"Planting 10,000 trees goes hand in hand with our mission to be the smart choice for authors. Our mission includes being good and responsible stewards of our environment" says Miles Nelson, partner of Dog Ear Publishing. "We are passionate about books and we're passionate about being an eco-friendly, environmentally sustainable publishing company."

Last year Dog Ear Publishing implemented an office-wide recycling program. "Very little of anything is simply thrown away" says Nelson. "We believe in reducing and recycling everything from paper to aluminum and office equipment. In fact, even the paper we use has a very high post-consumer waste content."

Dog Ear Publishing has created a "Dog Ear Cares" program. A portion of sales goes to support environmental organizations committed to reforestation and protecting natural habitats. Additionally, Dog Ear Publishing donates to organizations promoting literacy and child protection. www.dogearpublishing.net/Newsletter_dogearcares.aspx
