$500 For Your Short Story

Orlando, FL 2005—Author Michael T. Owens, featured in Adweek magazine, Yahoo News, etc., is sponsoring a writing contest to find talented writers for his small independent publishing company. One lucky writer will win $500 for writing the best alternate ending to his latest novel “A Dream Come True”.

10 finalists will be selected from all the entries. One grand prize winner will be chosen from the finalists.

A Dream Come True is a cautionary coming-of-age story of three friends leaving suburban Orlando for glitzy Los Angeles to follow their dreams.

Rules and Guidelines for the “A Dream Come True” Writing Contest:

***Submissions will be judged on originality, relevance to the story, characterization, and overall execution***

1. NO entry fee. The competition is open to all writers published and unpublished. There is no length requirement. Do whatever it takes to tell a good story.

2. Entries may be submitted via email or regular mail. Please number your pages. Type your name, address, phone number, and email address on the first page.

If submitting by regular mail, use delivery confirmation since we cannot personally notify everyone of entry receipt. Manuscripts will not be returned. Email entries with the subject line “Writing Contest” to: publishone1@yahoo.com For regular mail:

3. Submissions must be formatted as a Microsoft Word document or .rtf file, typed, and double-spaced. All entries must be original, unpublished, and not submitted elsewhere until the winners are announced.
