Jostens Renaissance announces "Hall of Fame" and "Coordinators of the Year"

MINNEAPOLIS – July 22, 2009 – Jostens has announced the 2009 Jostens Renaissance Hall of Fame recipients and Coordinators of the Year. The awardees were honored at the annual Jostens Renaissance National Conference on July 17 – 19 in Orlando, Florida.

The Jostens Renaissance Hall of Fame award is presented to educators who demonstrate exceptional leadership and results in improving academic achievement among all students at their respective school through the Renaissance program. This years Hall of Fame Awardees are Bernard Saiz and David Sanders. Saiz is Superintendent at Los Lunas Schools in Los Lunas, NM. Sanders is a teacher at Boiling Springs High School in Boiling Springs, SC.

Jostens' Coordinator of the Year award honors school administrators and faculty members who have demonstrated superior performance and achievement in the operation of their school's Jostens Renaissance program. This year Jostens has selected five winners for this highly honorable award: Renaissance Coordinators of the Year Debra Summers and Melissa Soule from Timberland High School in St. Stephen, SC; Renaissance Coordinator Kim Loring from Highland Regional High School in Blackwood, NJ; Principal Russ O'Rear from Haleyville Elementary in Haleyville, AL; and Principal Ron Ward from Tri-West Middle School in Lizton, IN.

"It is a privilege to recognize the educators selected as Jostens' Hall of Fame members and Coordinators of the Year," said Charley Nelson, director, Educator Services, Jostens. "The awardees have made a measurable difference in their schools and communities. Their ideas and methods will be shared with schools across North America to recognize their creativity and commitment."
