With an increasing number of families opting to remain in the UK this summer, Bournemouth is set to be one of the most popular holiday destinations.

Those looking to keep the family entertained for free can head to Bournemouth Air Festival, which kicks off on August 20th and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Sponsored by More Bus, the four-day event features a cracking line-up, with the Blades Aerobatic Display Team and Team Guinot set to perform a range of daredevil stunts.

The Red Arrows will also be on hand to keep the crowds entertained, performing three displays over the course of the festival.

On the ground, visitors can enjoy more than 1.5 miles of stalls, exhibitions, displays and entertaining attractions.

In addition, a series of special night events will be taking place, including performances by the Royal Marines Combat Team, fireworks displays, a laser show, magical heliosphere and dozens of street entertainers.

Roar on the Shore, which takes place on the opening night, will see festival organisers attempt to break a world record by setting off 110,000 fireworks in 60 seconds or less, as part of a fundraising event for the Help the Heroes charity.

Tickets are not required for any of the activities and those staying in hotels in Bournemouth can simply roll up and join in the fun.
