When you think of American culture and music from the last 3 generations, people like Michael Jackson, Tupac '2Pac' Shakur, and Nasir Jones are synonymous with greatness. Leaving behind any sense of a normal lifestyle for their Dreams, each man contributed to society greatly. New Hip-hop music artist C.KhiD is helping keep their vision alive by being one of the first to tell their story in verse. Inspired by 2Pac's speaking on native and African storytellers, C.KhiD "Man In The Mirror 2009" re-visits 3 music greats.

"I'm a big fan of many music artists but few took such powerful stances against society's ignorant tenancies as these 3 men since my birth. I've studied their careers and of course been a fan of them since young. I just want their story to live on to inspire others, just as I was inspired," says new music artist C.KhiD.

Following the 3 artists since a child, rapper C.KhiD says Jackson, 2Pac, and Nas inspired him to believe he could be whatever Dreamed. Michael Jackson's ultra-creative music videos influences the new Hip-Hop artist until this day, which is obvious in some of his music videos. "KhiD" as some of his fans call him, wants to bring with his music interests for those artists as well as his own ideas.

"Tupac was incredible but most people only knew what was on radio or TV. They did not know the community activist and depth of his struggle coming up," continued C.KhiD. "Nobody had a harder life in mainstream Hip-Hop in reality. The ghetto is not a cage, as you can get out. However, Tupac had the most odds against him with a struggling mother and no home or house to sleep. Lots of rappers made choices to be in the streets and focus on that choice, while 2Pac had less and explored more of life. That's incredible"

Writing witty lines about 2Pac, Michael, and Nas throughout the song "Man In The Mirror 2009," C.KhiD tried to take on role of being each music artist. With lines such as "I lift one voice // to make people feel my love, no choice" and "Born to be a thug // showed you could be anything keeping your head up," it's easy to see who the artist is speaking of.

Touching down on the still living music artist Nas was harder for C.Khid he admits. He had a sleuth of artists he wanted to speak on but chose Nas for his strong stance on changing the Queensbridge community. "Nas' I can song, if you listen to it, was an incredible point in Hip-Hop. No other artist today will do such a song and video because they are afraid of public response," said C.KhiD
