Tired of the credit crunch gloom and summer rain? Well, it could be time to book a last-minute flight to Spain and soak up some sunshine at Barcelona Summer Week, according to LateRooms.com

One of the country's biggest music events/festival has kicked off on the 3rd of August and will continue until the 9th.

The week-long gathering features more than 250 individual events, which take place across seven beaches, 30 clubs across the city and brings together some of the hottest talent on the planet.

This year's lineup includes the likes of Tiesto, David Guetta, Erik Morillo and Fedde Le Grand.

Other acts set to take to the stage include Funkerman, David Tort and Delis Group, with tickets available online.

Some of the venues that will be hosting events over the course of the festival include Opium Mar, the Atlantic Club and Apolo – all of which are within easy reach of most Barcelona hotels.

As well as enjoying the sounds of the world's best DJs, those heading to Barcelona next month will find plenty of other things to do, including exploring the gothic quarter and its golden beaches.

Some of the city's most popular attractions include the Olympic Port area, where visitors will find plenty of bars and restaurants, as well as Barcelona Zoo and the Picasso Museum.
