New “Pilates Space” Studio Opens in Downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan

September 01, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
Pilates Space, the new, body-mind exercise sanctuary in Downtown Ann Arbor will have its grand opening on Tuesday, September 6th. Located on 116 West Washington Street, Pilates Space is an intimate, fully-equipped studio offering small, group classes in Stott Pilates, Kirplau Yoga and Gyrokinesis and private sessions on the traditional Pilates Reformer, Cadillac and Chair. The studio is the brainchild of Nicola Conraths-Lange, author of two bestselling Pilates books “Survival Skills for Pilates Teachers” and “Pilates Space.”

Where:
Pilates Space
116 West Washington Street, Suite A
Ann Arbor, MI 48103

When:
Fall classes begin September 6th 2005 and go through December 16th 2005.
Schedule of classes is available online: www.logokinesis.com

Why:
Expert Pilates practitioners bridge the gap between rehabilitation and fitness. Dancers and athletes seeking performance enhancement profit from Pilates, Yoga and Gyrokinesis as much as other fitness enthusiasts who want to stay healthy and discover their bodies’ possibilities.

“I wanted a place were rehabilitation and fitness go hand-in-hand,” states Nicola Conraths-Lange, Pilates Space Founder and Owner. “How many times do we meet people who improve during physical therapy but are lost once their sessions are finished? Working with a physical therapist, Pilates teacher and body worker creates a true network of support that brings long-term results. I hope to see all students improve their overall mental and physical health through a Pilates or body-mind exercise class, states Conraths-Lange.”

What:
Pilates Space offers comprehensive treatments ranging from fitness to rehabilitation. Cardiac and orthopedic post-surgery care and lower back pain and osteoporosis-management are taught by a physical therapist. The studio also provides pre-natal fitness and post-partum rehabilitation classes along with performance enhancement programs for dancers, gymnasts and athletes.

Who:
In addition to Pilates expert Nicola Conraths-Lange, instructors include long-time Ann Arbor fitness specialists Carolyne Anthony, Barbara Bassett and Aimee McDonald in addition to Donna Gambino, PT, from Plymouth and Tamara Aprea from Brighton.

Fees:
Private sessions are $70.00 each, and a package of 10 sessions is $600.00.
Single mat classes (75 minutes each) cost $20.00, a package of 5 classes is $95.00 and a package of 10 classes costs $180.00.
