$100,000 TABLE SOCCER TOURNAMENT TO KICK OFF IN DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TEXAS

(PRLEAP.COM) Grapevine, Texas - An estimated 400 of the world’s best table soccer (a.k.a. "foosball") players have already begun to descend on the Dallas-Fort Worth area to compete for approximately $100,000 in cash, prizes and titles at Valley-Dynamo’s Tornado Table Soccer World Championship Series tournament. To take place September 2-7, 2009 at the DFW Hilton Lakes Hotel & Conference Center, the tournament features categories for men and women of all skill levels from amateur to Master and for ages from junior to senior.

Both team and individual competitions are expected to be very intense, as athletes vie for qualification berths to play in the next International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF) World Championship Finals in Nantes, France in January. In addition, the current ITSF World Cup Champions – the U.S. National Team – will be defending their hard-won honor in a special ITSF National Teams category, as they take on current World #1-ranked Team Germany and others in a much anticipated preview of top World Cup contenders for 2010.

All competition will take place on Tornado Table Soccer tables, one of five official tables used for international pro tour play and manufactured by DFW’s own Valley-Dynamo, Inc. The event is an ITSF World Series class tournament, and is further sanctioned by the United States Table Soccer Federation (USTSF). Sponsors of the event include Valley-Dynamo and the DFW Hilton Lakes (reservations: 1-817-481-8444) while sponsors of the U.S. National Team include Foosball.com and TTR MasterWraps. Opening events begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2nd, with most finals occurring on Monday the 7th. Spectators and press are welcome and there is no admission fee to enter the tournament room. There are entry fees for players who wish to compete in an event.

This is the largest tournament held in the USA on the 2009 ITSF World Tour. Other 2009 ITSF competitions have taken place in Austria, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Russia, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom, among others. In fact, this year’s 50-tournament tour could be the largest table soccer tour ever!!
