Daeja launches Email Viewing Module for ViewONE Pro web-based document and image viewer

September 25, 2009 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Daeja Image Systems has introduced an Email Viewing Module for use with its market leading ViewONE Pro web-based document and image viewer. Available to download or purchase online, the new module enables users to view Outlook MSG (in HTML and Plain Text formats) and EML messages on a single page without the need for an email client on their machine.

Daeja's new module allows viewing of email text in its original format and layout; most competing approaches are only able to display simple text. Embedded images and email attachments can also be easily viewed or saved to the user's local file system.

The design of ViewONE Pro and the way that available modules are layered on top, means that every viewable file type automatically benefits from the capabilities given by all modules for which a license has been purchased. This means that users have the potential to annotate and redact the content of the main message body. Additionally, if the user has purchased a license for Daeja's Print Accelerator module, then they will also be able to carry out high-speed printing of emails, compressed to fit on a single A4 page.

Daeja Image Systems' new Email Viewing Module has two customisation features designed to enhance security and control. The first controls the enabling / disabling of the ability to save email attachments locally. Set by default to allow saving to take place, this can be changed through a HTML parameter on the viewer. The second feature, which can be turned on or off without the need to reload the viewer, allows external images in emails to be disabled. This means that images on remote, potentially untrusted servers can be shown or hidden as would be the case with a normal email client. This feature, set to 'off' by default, helps to protect online privacy.

"Our new Email Viewing Module represents another valuable enhancement to the ViewONE Pro document and image viewer product portfolio", said Stuart Moss, CEO, Daeja Image Systems. He continued:"The ability to view annotated and redacted emails, like any other document, will prove to be beneficial to our customers who already see our products as market leading and innovative in empowering new ways to work".
