Boys Hoodies Retailer Launches Study into Boys Body Image Perception
(
PRLEAP.COM) Women have long been reading in fashion magazines and books about different body shapes and what they should wear to compliment their particular body shape, whether they are a pear, apple, or hourglass. For the most part however, men and boys body shapes have been ignored and there is no clear definition between different builds and body types.
This is about to change. The online boys clothing retailer, Joe Bloggs Clothing are set to carry out a pioneering study which will look at the body shapes of boys between the ages of 7-16. The results of their survey could have a big impact on the current sizing of boys clothing, particularly boys aged 7-16 years old.
The
Boys Hoodies retailers are looking to survey around 5,000 boys, asking for information on their height, waist and inside leg measurements. By doing this, Joe Bloggs Clothing hope to find an average figure for each measurement which will give them a true representation of the most common body shapes of boys in the 21st Century.
Joe Bloggs’ PR and Marketing Director, Bushra Ahmed commented: "Joe Bloggs Clothing has been around for over 20 years and much has changed in that time. Boys are far more fashion conscious now, they are aware of what looks good and want to wear clothes that suit them.
"There have also been huge changes in people’s body shapes over the past 20 years, something which has been studied in detail with regards to women’s body shapes but has been ignored in men and boys. Hopefully, this research will highlight that fact that boys also come in variety of shapes and sizes and our clothing should reflect that accordingly; we want to cater for everybody, not just your average Joe Bloggs!
"This study is the first of its kind to be carried out by clothing experts like ourselves. We want to make it easy for boys between 7-16 years old to buy
boys clothing that will make them look good and feel confident, whatever their shape and size."
