Counter Trend against Outsourcing of Software Testing

London, United Kingdom; October 2, 2009 : Certeco, a specialist IT Programme Management, Quality Assurance and Testing Services company are delighted to announce the launch of their company in the UK market.

The focus of the company is to enable large enterprise business to control and verify IT business system implementations. Their services provide independent and objective expertise from the inception of a change project to the successful completion and implementation for the business users. In particular the service offers to reduce the negative impact of business change on IT end users.

The company is founded on the existing business of Novum Europe which was established in 2002. Novum counts amongst its current clients five of the UK's largest businesses, prior to this expansion it provided a narrower and smaller scale service portfolio.

Alongside Richard Mossman and Philip Tootell who remain as founders and Directors, Gary Davies is appointed as Managing Director and Adam Ripley as Chairman.

Gary Davies was a Director and shareholder of IS Integration prior to its acquisition by AppLabs in 2006. More recently he was Head of Testing in Europe for Cognizant. He is seen as one of the leading figures in software testing in the European market.

Adam Ripley, a technology entrepreneur, was a founder and Managing Director of IS Integration, and, following the acquisition by AppLabs, VP of Global Marketing at AppLabs until 2007. He has had over 25 years of success creating and developing IT services businesses in the UK market.

Gary Davies commented on the launch. "It has been clear to me for some time that the process of planning, quality assurance and software testing is something that users feel more comfortable keeping independent of the big IT services companies and closer to their business. In my experience they seek out personal relationships with people they can trust to give them the true picture. They are happy to get the software built offshore but it makes sense that they keep control of the quality and its impact on the business using a specialist".

Adam Ripley commented, "The focus of a company of our type towards working closely with the business on their IT implementation is something that I think is quite new in the UK. Our UK based competitors are more technical and IT based, having a strategic business focus will provide a new opportunity for us to work with companies to influence the way projects are controlled and provide quality assurance in the implementation process. We see this as something that is also missed by the bigger service providers who naturally have an emphasis on the development lifecycle rather than the business implementation".
