Injury Help Network Announces Launch of Reglan Help Website

(PRLEAP.COM) The Injury Help Network, managed by Schmidt & Clark, LLP, a nationally recognized products liability law firm announced today that it has recently added additional content to its consumer protection website regarding the link between Reglan and Tardive Dyskinesia.

Reglan, also known as metoclopramide, is a prescription medication used to treat gastrointestinal disorders (GERD) and nausea in children and adults. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) originally approved Reglan for short-term use only (4-12 weeks), however a number of patients have reported using the drug for longer periods of time.

Recently, the FDA required the manufacturers of Reglan and other metoclopramide-containing drugs to add a "black box warning" to the drugs, which warned of the increased risk of Reglan induced Tardive Dyskinesia.

Tardive dyskinesia is characterized by repetitive, involuntary, purposeless movements. Features of the disorder may include grimacing, tongue protrusion, lip smacking, puckering and pursing of the lips, and rapid eye blinking. Rapid movements of the extremities may also occur. Impaired movements of the fingers may also appear.

The Reglan lawyers and law firms associated with The Injury Help Network represent a number of clients suffering from Reglan induced Tardive Dyskinesia. If you or a loved one have taken Reglan and been diagnosed with Tardive Dyskinesia, you visit The Injury Help Network to learn more about your rights in filing a Reglan lawsuit.
