LateRooms.com can announce that when thinking about Basketball, American leagues and superstar players are likely to be the first things that spring to mind for many people.

However, if there are any keen sports fans staying in Paris hotels over the festive period, they could find that one event may really tickle their fancy if they are looking for things to do in the city.

Every year on December 30th the All-Star game takes place, which pitches the best of the best in French basketball against other players from around the world and invites them to show of their skills and score as many slam dunks as possible.

Held at the Bercy Palais Omnisports, the contest sees the All-Star French team take on the All-Star Foreign team, which is made up of non-French competitors who play basketball in the county.

This long-running event has been going since 2002 and delights around 16,000 fans every year.

Tickets for the event cost from €16 (£14.4) to €35 and the action begins at 7:30pm, so viewers have plenty of time to get settled in their seats and get excited about the amazing basketball they are bound to witness.

Next year, the Bercy sports arena will be playing host to musical acts such as 30 Seconds to Mars, Depeche Mode, Paul McCartney and the Jonas Brothers.

If you're heading to the All-Star Basketball game this year, we strongly advise that you book your hotel Paris as soon as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.
