MIAMI – If you’re looking for evidence that Florida’s entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well, look no further than Funding-Florida.com. The upstart website registered its hundredth entrepreneur this week after only two short months of existence.

“To tell you the truth, we’re not at all surprised that Florida has so many active entrepreneurs and investors,” said Jeff Jordan, Funding-Florida.com’s VP of Marketing. “Florida’s diverse makeup lends itself to intelligence, creativity and entrepreneurship. There are a lot of great ideas in Florida, and we hope our site will help those ideas find the money they need to bring them to life.”

Funding-Florida.com is an online meeting place where Florida entrepreneurs looking for start-up capital may submit their business plans to Florida investors. Entrepreneurs register on the site and upload their business plan at no cost. Angel investors then visit Funding-Florida.com and find businesses to invest in. At no point are the investor or entrepreneur charged for any services provided by Funding-Florida,com.

“We’re excited about Funding-Florida’s success,” said Funding-Florida.com founder Paul Allen. “We really appreciate all of the Florida entrepreneurs and angel investors who are making this growth possible.”

Funding-Florida.com is part of a family of 51 FundingUniverse.com state sites designed to help entrepreneurs and investors link up. The Florida site is only the third to reach 100 registered entrepreneurs. Southern California and Utah are the other two. However, neither reached the century mark as fast as Florida.

FundingUniverse.com was founded by Internet entrepreneur Paul Allen (no relation to Microsoft’s Paul Allen) and former Novell General Counsel David Bradford in April of 2005. Their creation has helped entrepreneurs meet dozens of angel investors in Florida and throughout the nation this year.
