LateRooms.com can announce that plenty of music, singing and dancing may be some of the things that attract people staying at hotels in Barcelona to the area.

After all, Spain is known for its festival atmosphere and parties that see people celebrate well into the night.

One event that could top the lot when it comes to making a racket is the International Percussion Festival of Catalonia.

Taking place at L'Auditori in Barcelona, the annual occasion is sure to get people tapping their feet as performers from all over the world descend on the venue to show off their skills and celebrate the music.

What's on When reports that the festival is dedicated to "the humble triangle, booming bass drum and everything in between".

This includes a selection of traditional instruments, as well as some that may not be quite so well-known.

The event will be held in February and there are a variety of different concerts taking place in the evenings which give visitors the opportunity to pick and choose which they would like to see.

Most of these cost €15 (£13.50) for a ticket and start between 20:30 and 22:00 local time.

While in the city, people could also join in the Barcelona Carnival, at which they could enjoy a tasty tortilla filled with spicy meats as part of the celebrations leading up to the Lenten fast.

If you're heading to the International Percussion Festival of Catalonia this year, we strongly advise that you book your hoteles en Barcelona as soon as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.
