LateRooms.com can announce that artistic types booking accommodation in Madrid may find all the paintings and sculptures they could ever want if they head to the city in February.

Arco is Europe's largest contemporary art fair and draws about 200,000 visitors every year.

From February 17th until the 21st 2010, Madrid will become the centre of the international art world with all manner of shows, exhibitions, talks and seminars to entertain visitors.

The event's influence is continuing to grow and seventeen galleries will be taking part.

This year, the focus is on Los Angeles and makes 2010 a special year for Arco, as it is the first time a city has been given all the attention rather than an entire country.

Curators Kris Kuramitsu and Christopher Miles said: "As a city for art, Los Angeles has become, and continues to be, a key centre for production, distribution and discourse at a time when centres are increasingly losing control and lacking in any kind of dominant school or movement."

Although the participating galleries are only open to professionals for the first two days of the event, on February 19th, 20th and 21st the public can visit from 12:00 until 20:00 local time.

Those who get a taste for art at Arco can see more paintings at the galleries in Madrid, such as the Prado, Reina Sofia or the Sorolla.

Commenting on Arco, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to Arco and who need hoteles en Madrid to book early to avoid disappointment"
