Schools Worldwide Offer Assistance to Students Affected By Hurricane Katrina

(PRLEAP.COM) There has been an outpouring of support from educators around the world for students, staff, and others displaced by the hurricane and its aftermath.

Schools abroad have offered grants toward tuition for financially impacted students and expedited applications for students needing to make alternate plans at the last moment. Some offers of assistance have been extended to all residents of the three states, volunteers, and those helping in the evacuation and resettlement process.

For those unable to begin classes until October or November, flexible course dates abroad and transfer credit agreements between US and foreign academic institutions offer another option to apply credit earned abroad toward degree or CEU requirements at home. There are undergraduate and graduate courses, foreign language training, internships, art (fine, performing, applied), and professional development (CEU) for teachers, medical, social and protective services, and other professionals.
