AsiaRooms.com can announce that an upcoming event in Ubud could appeal to people who enjoy the benefits of a physical workout while on their travels.

On February 13th and 14th, Bali's Yoga Barn is set to host an intensive Pilates weekend with certified instructor Mareile Paley, who will be travelling from Hong Kong to share her knowledge.

The weekend will give people staying in Ubud hotels an opportunity to experience Pilates, a physical fitness system based on strengthening the body's core muscles.

Suitable for beginners and those with an intermediate grasp of the technique, as well as yoga enthusiasts, the weekend should help people to improve their strength, flexibility and mental focus.

People wishing to attend both days at the Yoga Barn will find tickets priced at 600,000 rupiah (£39), while there is also a Saturday-only admission fee of 350,000 rupiah.

Ubud is known as the cultural centre of Bali and offers travellers a different experience to the island's popular beach areas such as Kuta and Seminyak.

The town's status as an artistic hub is attributed to the influence of European painters such as Rudolf Bonnet and Willem Hofker, who lived and worked in Ubud during the 1930s and 1940s.
