AsiaRooms.com can announce that a glittering array of precious stones and sparkling treasures will be on display at the 45th edition of the Bangkok Gems & Jewellery Fair next month.

Taking place at the city's Impact exhibition and conference centre, this huge five-day jewellery trade show is open to both professionals and members of the public.

People who have stayed in hotels in Bangkok will know the city's reputation for producing elaborate items of jewellery.

The trade fair, which begins on February 26th, aims to consolidate that status by bringing over 1,200 exhibitors together to showcase their wares.

More than 3,500 stalls are spread out over a single floor at the event, which is organised by the Thai Gem and Jewellery Traders Association.

The show takes place twice a year and typically attracts about 35,000 visitors, as well as exhibitors from all over the world, including the UK, Italy, Russia, US, China and Israel.

According to the organisers, the fair is designed to recognise Thailand's "craftsmanship and the ability in applying an ancient tradition with modern technology to achieve perfection in the production of impressive jewelry".

Visitors to Bangkok, including those using hotels in Siam Square, should note that there is a smart casual dress code in place for the jewellery fair, which means that shorts and sandals are not permitted.
