Debt solutions expert, Kenneth Priore, of New Leaf Financial, (www.newleafdebt.com), announces the release of an op-ed piece on the new bankruptcy legislation set to go in effect on October 18th.

Kenneth Priore, a California attorney and noted expert in the debt solutions field offers some grave predictions on the negative effect the new Bankruptcy law will have on hard working Americans.

“The problem that I have is that the net that our Federal government has cast to catch these instances is simply to great and many hard working Americans will find themselves caught in it.” states Mr. Priore.

Mr. Priore further goes on to blast Mr. Bush and the Congress in passing this legislation, stating, “Congress and the President have followed a very one-sided and unbalanced approach. Rather than thinking holistically about the circumstances which have brought individuals and families to bankruptcy.”

Mr. Priore offers a solution not followed by the President and Congress, stating “If this new law was truly a measure designed to prevent bankruptcy abuse and lower costs to honest hard working Americans, then why not hold the large credit institutions to their words. They have claimed that by removing these problem and abusive debtors from the system, this will lower the cost of credit for everyone. Why didn't Congress and the president then enact interest and fee caps?”

Before founding New Leaf Financial, a debt solutions company, Priore was a managing attorney for a third party litigation group for Charles Schwab, Inc. and counsel and chief compliance office to MVC Capital. Priore received his BA from Tufts University in 1991 and his JD from Tulane University in 1995.
