LateRooms.com can announce that One event taking place in Spain this spring will give people staying in Madrid hotels the perfect excuse to eat, drink and be merry with some delicious authentic cuisine.

From April 12th until the 15th, crowds can attend Salon de Gourmets, which is a real treat for any foodies keen to get a taste of the Mediterranean.

Held at the IFEMA exhibition centre, the event promises to offer thousands of different delicatessen products and according to What's on When, visitors will be able to "find every type of Spanish olive under the sun, from water-cured to dry-cured and lye-cured".

If they are not keen on the strongly flavoured fruits, there will also be some meaty treats one offer in the form of several types of chorizo.

There will be top chefs with years of expertise on hand to prepare the fine ingredients and visitors may also be able to pick up a few ingredients so they can give Spanish cooking a go themselves.

Perhaps most exciting of all is the National Ham Carving Contest that takes place and spectators may not want to miss this opportunity to see the professionals in action.

The IFEMA exhibition centre is in the north of the city and plays host to a number of internationally renowned fairs over the year.

Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for Salon de Gourmets is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hotels Madrid as early as possible."
