LateRooms.com can announce that Berlin will be playing host to the Tanzolymp - or Dance Olymp - an international festival where young dancers can showcase their talents.

Running from February 17th to 21st, it could provide a welcome diversion to anyone staying in hotels in Berlin who has tired of visiting all the conventional sights.

Young dancers from vocational and private schools are offered the chance to perform in the show's competitions and participate in workshops and seminars.

The event culminates with its international gala on February 20th, when members of the public will have the opportunity to see the best performances from the week on a big stage.

Anyone who wants to attend the show is advised to contact the venue, the Konzertsaal at the University of Arts (Universität der Künste) on Fasanenstrasse in the Charlottenburg district of the city.

Participants are not only competing for the chance to display their skills on the dance floor, there are a number of scholarships available for the winners, in addition to some special cash prizes.

The festival is held under the banner "Dance as a global language" and the organisers hope to support and increase the popularity of dancing through the event.

"The Tanzolymp is likely to be popular," said Jess Reading, head of marketing at LateRooms. "LateRooms strongly recommends people considering attending to book hotels Berlin as soon as possible."
