AsiaRooms.com divulges Phuket's popular Cricket Sixes event will be returning once again this year, much to the delight of people using accommodation in Thailand.

The dates for the 2010 competition have now been confirmed, with the pre-tournament beach cricket session scheduled for Wednesday April 14th and the full event getting underway the following day.

Last year's four-day tournament was won by the Bahrain Apsara Camels, who defeated the CBB Postels team in an exciting final at Karon Stadium to claim the trophy.

Speaking after the 2009 instalment, tournament director Brad Tarr said: "It was a superb week of 'fun in the sun' cricket for 26 teams, fans and officials, highly entertaining and full of enjoyment on and off the field."

He added that the Cricket Sixes takes place in "one of the best holiday locations around".

The tournament is organised by the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour, which works in partnership with local sponsors such as Phuket's Green Man Pub and the Phuket International Hospital to stage the vent.

Karon Stadium may be familiar to people who have used accommodation in Phuket, as it is situated next to the popular Karon Beach area.

Entry for spectators is free and refreshments are available at the stadium throughout the day.
