Ingeo ™ Fiber Debuts at DESIGNERS AND AGENTS Twenty four talented young designers. Twenty four cutting edge T-shirts. Three cities. One fiber.

(PRLEAP.COM) At Designers and Agents (D&A), a trade exhibition and a market place for thousands of retailers who define the cutting edge in fashion and lifestyle, NatureWorks is putting twenty four t-shirts on display as a testament to what can be done when this innovative fiber is put in the hands of talented young designers and give their imaginations free rein. Twenty four designers competed in this year’s ITS#4 competition, the world’s foremost platform for rising young talent in the clothing design sector. Ingeo™ fiber is a proud supporter of ITS, and look no further than these t-shirts to see why.

Why D&A? Most fiber producers go straight to yarn and fabric producers without bothering themselves with clients further down the line. Given the uniqueness of this novel fiber, and its ramifications throughout the textile industry, NatureWorks LLC feels responsible for sharing its Ingeo fiber message with everyone, from fabric producers to final customers. After all, Ingeo fiber is more than a fiber, it is a brand name with a lot of relevance to both downstream and the consumer. It is therefore responsible and indeed obliged to communicate its message to all levels of the industry.

Designers and Agents is a perfect venue, an opportunity to share the Ingeo brand message with a host of professionals who might not otherwise hear or understand. The message is simple and can be summed up in three words: responsibility, performance and aesthetics.

Responsibility, because Ingeo fiber is the first and the only man-made fiber created from 100% annually renewable resources – a novel product that combines the best of both worlds (the performance of a synthetic fiber and the advantages of a natural material). And because it is derived entirely from natural sources, Ingeo fiber contributes to reducing our dependence on limited fossil fuel resources such as oil, the higher costs of which are currently being seen by the textile industry at large. It is the only fiber able to say that it is made 100% from plants, not oil.

Performance, because clothing made with Ingeo fiber can compete with the best synthetic fibers available in every category, making it an easy choice for clothing manufacturers. Characteristics like strength, resilience, comfort and drape combined with loft, natural insulating warmth, moisture management and easy care and wear properties make Ingeo fiber the perfect solution for both outer and inner fabric performance needs.

Aesthetics, because NatureWorks understands that sustainability and performance mean nothing without an attractive appearance and touch. People are ready to make intelligent choices about the clothing they wear, but no one wants to compromise on looks in the process. Ingeo fiber’s inherent feel, utility and aesthetic appeal make it the perfect choice for clothing manufacturers across the spectrum, from glamour to street chic and from rugged outdoor wear to gentle undergarments.

These three aspects have combined to create commercial power for Ingeo fiber. Increasingly the brand is being chosen, where clothing producers realize that having the Ingeo name on their tag means taking advantage of the numerous commercial advantages this brand offers. It is a testament to NatureWorks’ efforts to increase the brand’s public profile, creating initiatives that involve not only industry professionals, but clothing designers, rock stars, luminaries and more. Over the past year alone, an Ingeo t-shirt initiative was launched with the world-famous musician Moby, roundtable discussions were organized in key cities around the world to explore the theme of sustainability in the textile industry, and promoted the advent of young talent through its support for ITS#4 along with Diesel, the results of which can be seen on display here at D&A.

The “Ingeo T-Shirt Creative” is an unusual approach, but then everything about Designers and Agents is avant-garde and unusual. This is the first time Ingeo fiber has participated in D&A, setting up the “Ingeo T-Shirt Creative” Gallery in the three cities selected by D&A – Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo – not only to share the message with professionals and the public through these new venues, but also to take part in shared values. In its own words, Designers and Agents is a marketplace for “thousands of retailers who define the cutting edge in fashion and lifestyle.” The emphasis on art as well as fashion, on experience as much as information, on fostering new talent without ignoring established designers. This message blends perfectly with Ingeo’s forward-looking philosophy.

Change is possible. Choice is available. And Ingeo is making a difference, one T-Shirt at a time.

Ingeo, the first and the only man made fiber from 100% annually renewable agricultural resources – not oil.
