LOS ANGELES, CA, October 11, 2004/EZPress – While Jeremy Sisto may be one of the most recognizable names in Richard Greenberg's Tony Award Winning play, there is a major powerful star in the making. Byron Quiros (Coronado, Hard Pill, JAG) is quickly making his own mark in Hollywood acting alongside Sisto, Terrell Tilford, Jeffrey Nordling and Carmen Argenziano, Quiros is attracting a lot of buzz in the industry for his role as Rodriguez in the West Coast Premiere of Take Me Out for The Geffen Playhouse playing now at The Brentwood Theatre.

Take Me Out follows the story of a superstar baseball player who comes out of the closet as a gay man and the trials and tribulations after his announcement. Rave reviews are out which has thrown the play into an extended run due to popular demand. Some may speculate that the locker room shower scene may be just one of the reasons this play is selling out nightly, but critics applaud the pure talent of this winning team.

Once described by a critic as "dangerously sexy' and possessing the raw talent of a young Brando, Quiros has the acting chops to back up his stunning physical presence. He was cast as General Rafael in Coronado because the producers and director wanted an actor who could have the fiery look in his eyes and "command the presence of a true leader yet have compassion and love for his suppressed people.' Quiros definitely embodies the complete package. With good looks, determination and talent, and an easy-going attitude, it's only a matter of time before Byron Quiros captures more attention in the industry.

Born to Costa Rican parents and raised in Southern California, Quiros earned a Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Honorable Mention for his work as Paco in Miguel Pinero's Short Eyes and a LADCC Best Actor Award for Samuel Gardner in Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology. He is a man of many talents and a true lover of all the arts (stage, film, and TV). He's had the opportunity to work as a dancer for Harley Davidson, Disney, Craig David, Grammy Award Winner Usher, and currently tours with Latin Grammy Nominee Ana Barbara. He's choreographed and directed for BMG & Fonovisa Records, Fashion designers at Smashbox Studios and Latin events in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. Quiros feels honored to have worked alongside such actors as Kristin Datillo, Clayton Rohner and John Rhys-Davies in Coronado, Jonathan Slavin in the yet to be released Hard Pill and David James Elliott in JAG.

Byron Quiros' current project, Richard Greenberg's 2003 Tony Winner for best play, Take Me Out for The Geffen Playhouse runs through the end of October (subject to another extension) at The Brentwood Theatre. Tickets are available by calling 310-208-5454 or online at www.geffenplayhouse.com
