LateRooms.com divulges anyone who has booked hotels in Berlin during April may find that for one night at least, they do not need to return to them.

This is because the city is holding its Long Night of Theatre and Opera on April 10th, when venues around the capital will stay open and offer audiences additional performances that run into the early hours of the morning.

It is the second time that the event has been held, based on the successful Long Night of the Museums, which had its 26th run in January.

During the evening, actors will step out on to 68 different stages dotted around the city to perform shows lasting approximately half an hour between 19:00 and 01:00 (local time).

Ticket holders will have the opportunity to move around between different locations and soak up the cultural atmosphere and displays on offer.

People visiting the city will be able to purchase tickets for the evening's entertainment for €15 (£13.25), which will allow them to view any of the participating shows.

Venues such as the Staatsoper on Unter den Linden and Theater am Kudamm are among those taking part.

"The Long Night of Theatre and Opera is likely to be popular," said Jess Reading, head of marketing at LateRooms. "LateRooms strongly recommends people considering attending to book hotels Berlin as soon as possible."
